Introduced for the 1955 season, the Haunted Swing was a mind boggling contraption. Although built on a relatively small scale, its trick was clever. With riders sat on a suspended gondola, the room around them rotates providing the illusion that they are turning upside down.
During the 1990s, the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma resurrected the concept and built modern versions. In the UK, these can be found at Drayton Manor, Alton Towers and Legoland Windsor.
For the 2002 season, the ride was combined with 1001 Troubles to create Impossible.
